Israel Domingos


About him:

Israel F. N. Domingos is a PhD student with background in soil chemistry and plant nutrition. His work experience includes teaching soil science modules at ISPKS (Angola) in 2013-2015 and lab demonstration of soil science modules at Newcastle University (UK) in 2016-2018. He conducted research on soil acidification of calcareous soils as part of his MSc degree in 2011-2013 and is currently assessing pseudocereals with inherently high nutritional value to improve and diversify human diet. His long-term research interests involve the development of a comprehensive understanding of alternatives for improvement and diversification of genetic resources to increase productivity and quality of arable crops.

“Optimising Agronomic Management of Quinoa for Improving Nutritional Quality”

 

The presentation will focus on showing that there is a clear potential for production of quinoa in an organic or low input production environment where a clear premium price can be achieved for high nutritional quality.
